State Street Investment Management is seeking a highly motivated National Accounts Associate Account Manager, AVP , to join our National Accounts team within the US Wealth sales organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing a defined set of Home Office relationships across Custodians, TAMPs and Independent Broker Dealers, while supporting broader National Accounts priorities across the US Wealth business.
You will partner closely with senior National Account Managers, Regional Consultants, and cross-functional teams to develop and execute account plans, identify growth opportunities, expand access to SSIM’s investment capabilities, and support broader US Wealth sales and business priorities. This role will also support the continued growth of our model portfolio business , including opportunities across Broker Dealers that leverage third-party asset management platforms (TAMPs).
Due to the role requirements, this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.
As a National Accounts Associate Account Manager, you will:
- Own and execute the strategy for a defined set of intermediary relationships, with a focus on Custodians, TAMPs, and Independent Broker Dealers, to drive asset growth and improve placement of SSIM investment solutions (ETFs, model portfolios, cash, SMAs, direct indexing, alternatives and other capabilities).
- Develop and maintain account plans for assigned firms, identifying opportunities to expand product access, deepen partnerships, and grow market share.
- Identify and advance model portfolio opportunities across assigned firms by working with internal and external partners to expand model availability and adoption.
- Support senior National Accounts Associate Account Managers on larger strategic relationships by helping execute business plans, coordinate client activity, prepare for business reviews, and advance key sales and partnership opportunities.
- Build relationships with key home office decision makers and platform partners, developing a strong understanding of each firm’s business model, investment platform, product priorities, and distribution approach.
- Connect home office and platform opportunities with the broader sales organization, partnering with Regional Consultants to translate National Accounts relationships into field activity and advisor adoption.
- Partner with Regional Consultants, Marketing, Product, Capital Markets, and Business Intelligence to deliver coordinated coverage, client presentations, product training, due diligence meetings, and other sales initiatives.
- Coordinate and conduct presentations, product training, RPFs/RFIs, and due diligence meetings to educate clients on our investment strategies, performance, and competitive advantages.
- Monitor platform developments, competitive activity, and industry trends, helping identify new opportunities and providing support for business planning and sales initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Series 7 and 63/65 licenses required
- 3-5 years of experience preferred, ideally in asset management, wealth management, financial services, intermediary sales, relationship management, or a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of intermediary distribution (wirehouse, IBD, RIA platforms), with a strong preference for Broker Dealer experience, including insurance BDs
- Familiarity with ETFs and model portfolios, along with a strong understanding of financial markets and investment products, with the ability to communicate investment capabilities and positioning effectively to clients
- Proven ability to build client relationships, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate effectively across internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively within a matrixed organization and collaborate across sales and cross-functional teams
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated interest in developing deeper sales, relationship management, and investment expertise
Salary Range:
$80,000 - $140,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
