Engineering Intern

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Manufacturing team as an Engineering Intern in Pullman, Washington. If you’re a current student looking to gain hands-on experience while continuing your education, we encourage you to apply! This opportunity is ideal for students who are available to work part-time during the academic semester and full-time during the summer.

A typical day as an Engineering intern might include:

- Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of power systems.

- Assist teams that support customers with the design, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.

- Complete assigned work using established procedures and working under immediate supervision.

- Complete assigned work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.

- Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

- Understand. Create. Simplify.

- Other duties as assigned.

This job might be for you if:

- A current student pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutions
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)

It is a plus if you have:

- College coursework in electric power and/or controls (power system protection, symmetrical components, programming, control systems)

Pay Range Data - $24.25 - $33.00 per hour

Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
