Job Description:

Note: This is a vacancy for 1 Part-time faculty position (up to 6 hours per week) starting immediately and ending April 16th, 2026. This is an in-person teaching position based at the Woodstock/Oxford Regional Campus. Successful candidates must be available to teach their course or section that may be scheduled during daytime hours, Monday through Friday.

Fanshawe College is seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused Part-Time Professor, Physical Sciences to join the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees program at the Woodstock/Oxford Regional Campus.

Why This Role Is Important

The Pre-Health Sciences program prepares students for further study in a wide range of health-related diploma and degree programs. Through a combination of science, mathematics, communication, and critical thinking skills, students develop the academic foundation required for future success in healthcare education. Program materials identify Physical Sciences as a core component of the curriculum.

How You’ll Make an Impact

- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Physical Sciences courses within the Pre-Health Sciences program.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments that align with course outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Support student success through mentoring, academic guidance, and accessibility-focused teaching practices.
- Utilize educational technology and Fanshawe's learning systems to support learning.
- Collaborate with faculty, coordinators, and campus staff to support program quality and student achievement.

What You’ll Bring

- A degree in Physics, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Medical Physics, or a closely related discipline
- Strong knowledge of foundational physics principles and their practical applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- A demonstrated commitment to student success and learner-centered education
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an academic team

Preference may be given to candidates who possess:

- Graduate-level education in a related field
- Previous post-secondary teaching experience
- Experience teaching physics or physical sciences to students pursuing health-related studies
- Experience using learning management systems and educational technologies
- Experience supporting diverse learners in an inclusive educational environment
