Welder/Fabricator

The Welder/Fabricator performs fabrication, welding, installation, modification, and repair of piping, structural steel, and HVAC duct systems in an industrial construction environment.

Fabricate, fit, weld, install, and repair carbon-steel and stainless-steel piping systems Fabricate and weld structural-steel components, including supports, frames, platforms, brackets, and equipment bases Install and modify copper, PVC, carbon-steel, and stainless-steel piping using the appropriate joining methods Fabricate, install, modify, and repair HVAC ductwork, fittings, hangers, supports, and related components Read and interpret piping isometrics, structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and field sketches Perform accurate field measurements, layout, cutting, beveling, fit-up, leveling, alignment, and material preparation Follow approved welding procedures, quality requirements, safety standards, and work-control processes while coordinating with other trades

Demonstrated experience as a welder/fabricator performing both pipe and structural-steel work Proficiency with applicable welding processes, including SMAW, GTAW/TIG, and GMAW/MIG or FCAW Ability to pass required structural and pipe-welding qualification tests in assigned positions and materials Working knowledge of copper, PVC, carbon-steel, stainless-steel, and HVAC duct systems and their joining methods Ability to read piping isometrics, structural drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and fabrication details Proficiency using welding machines, torches, plasma cutters, grinders, saws, layout tools, and measuring instruments Ability to work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in active industrial environments while lifting and positioning materials and equipment

Expected Compensation $32.00 - $60.70/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
