The Silberstein Lab is seeking a motivated part-time undergraduate Research Intern to support projects on enhancing immune function after stem cell transplantation and leukemia prevention.
We are looking for students with an excellent academic record seeking to gain original research experience in support of their academic goals. Candidates must be organized and reliable with a strong attention to detail and a passion for research.
A successful candidate will earn research course credits through their undergraduate program and will be encouraged to apply for independent scholarship support with support from their lab mentor. This is an unpaid internship position. Candidates must be able to present written confirmation from their Institution’s advisor attesting that they will be receiving school credits for the internship.

Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility will be mouse genotyping and breeding to support ongoing research projects
- Other responsibilities will include:
Help with experiments, including mouse bone marrow sample preparation/analysis
- Attendance of weekly lab meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be currently enrolled in an ungraduated program with interest in the sciences and performing research
- Graduation from High School or equivalent
- Motivation, adaptability, and ability to be a team player are essential
- Organizational and interpersonal skills are required
- Clear and concise communication
This is an internship position, Fred Hutch will not provide salary, benefits or visa sponsorship to the research intern.
This is a fully on-site role located in Seattle/WA. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position.
Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
