Garage Hiker Overnight 11pm-7am Valid Drivers License

Summary
This posistion is located at our Monteleone Parking Garage.

The individual selected for this position will perform a dual role which will be that of a Valet/Hiker and a Garage Cashier.

An Overnight Valet/Hiker - Garage Cashier is responsible for providing a positive first and last impression to guests when they arrive and leave the hotel and for issuing claim tickets to guests entering the parking garages and collect the fee when they leave.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Overnight Valet/Hiker-Garage Cashier position are as follow:

• Provides claim check and instructs guests on how to reclaim vehicle

• Parks guest vehicles in specified areas in a safe and efficient manner

• Retrieves customer vehicles from specified areas in a safe and efficient manner

• Provides travel directions and information on property events and promotions

• Provides accurate and timely documentation and reports of departmental activities and status including claim checks, vehicle damage, statements, and conditions with require attention and or repair.

• Obeys all traffic laws on and off property

• Promotes the courteous treatment of customers and resolving guest service issues

• Provides general supervision to valet attendants in order to ensure efficient valet operations

• Delivers internal and external guest service by ensuring every interaction

• Provides especially timely & knowledgeable service; and then some! Always find solutions to guests’ problems

• Greets arriving and departing guests. Opens passenger door(s) and offers assistance, if appropriate

• Posts public parking charges in Micros

• Posts guest parking charges in Opera

• Works with Monteleone Garage valets to help facilitate bringing down cars in a quick fashion

• Gives all guests of the Monteleone Garage truly outstanding service by greeting and smiling all the time

• Assists guests with directions/restaurant/venues throughout the French Quarter

• Other duties as assigned

Position Status and Availaiblity
The individual selected for this positon must be available to work a full-time, overnight (PM/AM) shift, Sunday - Saturday including holidays.

Certificates and Licenses
The individual selected for this position must possess a valid state issued driver's license and must not have been issued any type of driving violations within the last two (2) years.

Qualifications
• Strong customer service and leadership skills
• Ability to push, pull, lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds
• Ability to comply with all hotel’s policies and procedures
• Ability to speak clearly, write legibly, perform basic calculations and work well with other associates
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays
• Willing to work outside in hot, rainy, or other weather conditions
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license and no driving violatons within the last two (2) years
• Experience in standard shift vehicles
• Strong customer service and leadership skills
• Ability to comply with all hotel’s policies and procedures
• Ability to speak clearly, write legibly, perform basic calculations and work well with other associates
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays

Language Ability
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
The individual selected for this position must demonstrate the ability to operate a computerized property management system.

Certificates and Licenses
No certifications needed. A valid state issued driver’s license is required and no driving violations within the last two (2) years.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) at least one (1) year Garage Cashier or money handling experience and one (1) year customer service experience.
