The Assistant Supervisor, Manufacturing, supports production operations by leading a team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets while ensuring adherence to operational and quality standards. This role is more execution-focused and actively supports and performs hands-on production activities as needed to meet operational demands. The position reports to Manufacturing Manager or Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Support production team execution to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity cost targets.
- Perform hands-on production activities as needed to maintain workflow and meet operational demands.
- Reinforce adherence to operational and quality standards to ensure compliant production.
- Support management of staffing, output, and on-time delivery within the assigned production area or shift.
- Resolve moderately complex production and personnel issues to maintain daily operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, Program Management, and maintenance to resolve operational challenges.
- Communicate production performance, issues, and improvement plans to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and performance feedback to production employees.
- Support labor utilization, overtime control, and reduction of scrap or rework to improve performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Required Experience
- Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in manufacturing, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2–3 years of manufacturing experience with prior leadership or supervisory responsibility.

Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of production workflows, KPIs, labor planning, and root cause analysis.

- Ability to apply technical knowledge to manage daily performance and corrective actions.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and reporting.
