The Advanced Programs and Exploitation (APEX) team within Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a skilled software engineer to support space-based mission processing of OPIR data used for missile warning and defense programs.
In this position, you will focus on the software infrastructure, development environments, automation, and CI/CD capabilities that enable a team of engineers to develop, integrate, test, and deploy mission processing software. You will work closely with other software engineers to establish reliable and repeatable development and deployment processes.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for software build, test, analysis, and deployment
• Automating software development, integration, and test workflows
• Building and maintaining development and test environments using containers and virtualization
• Supporting software builds across Linux and embedded target environments
• Developing tools and scripts in Python, C++, Bash, or other languages to automate engineering workflows
• Managing software dependencies, build configurations, and development infrastructure
• Troubleshooting build, deployment, and environment issues across development teams
• Supporting automated software testing and regression infrastructure
• Supporting configuration management and version control practices
This position is located in our offices in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.
Basic Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering,
or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related technical field
* Software development experience in C++, Python, or another modern programming language
* Experience developing software in a Linux environment
* Experience with Git or other version control systems
* Ability to obtain a Secret government clearance
Desired Skills
* Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar
* Experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or other container technologies
* Experience with Linux system administration and scripting
* Experience with CMake or other build systems
* Experience developing automated test infrastructure
* Experience with artifact repositories and package management
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tools
* Experience supporting cross-compilation or embedded software build environments
* Experience with cloud, virtualized, or distributed computing environments
* Experience working in aerospace, defense, or other safety- or mission-critical software environments
* Active security clearance

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00
