Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Electrical Engineer / Principal Electrical Engineer . This position will be located in Roy, UT supporting the Sentinel Program .

The selected candidate will design, develop, and release cable and harness engineering solutions and associated Product Definition Packages (PDPs) to support lab and field test environments. This role involves managing multiple assignments in a dynamic test setting, including researching, planning, and developing electrical sub-systems for test data instrumentation systems. The candidate will produce engineering layouts and drawings, define system architectures, and create practical solutions for challenging test environments.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Perform system and component-level analyses of complex test and instrumentation systems
- Engineer and test electrical components and instrumentation sub-systems
- Support manufacturing and testing of components and instrumentation systems
- Lead research, analysis, system design and development efforts, including hardware procurement and technical oversight of suppliers
- Apply engineering principles to the design, development, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, and test equipment
- Support test and flight operations, including authoring procedures and other engineering instructions for test, operations, or customer use
- Develop interconnect diagrams for test lines, test events, and hardware configurations
- Design and release multiple cable and harness designs to support lab testing
- Perform voltage drop analyses and other relevant electrical calculations
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Lab Integration, and Test teams
- Design and implement test and measurement systems within a lab environment

Basic Qualifications:

- T02 Electrical Engineer: 2 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics); Master's degree with 0 years of experience; additional 4 years in lieu of a degree.
- T03 Principal Electrical Engineer: 5 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics); Master's degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 1 years of experience; additional 4 years in lieu of a degree.

For Both:

- Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, or current and within scope (< 6 yrs), with an ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

- Familiarity with industry cable and harness standards such as: IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4 and AS50881.
- 1+ years of experience using CAD design tools (i.e. NX, CATIA, Capital, etc.).

- 1+ years of experience with Cable/harness design, preferably following military and/or aviation standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Has been previously approved for Special Access Program (SAP)
- Electrical Engineering degree
- At least 1 year of experience with basic data signal types (MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, CAN etc.).
- Experience with Parts, Materials and Processes for electrical harness related to power distribution, communication and high-speed data signal applications, as well as manufacturing support.
- Experience with Siemens Capital (AKA Mentor Capital) or similar E-CAD program.
- Experience in design tools such as Microsoft Visio, RapidHarness, Capital, Teamcenter, etc.
- Experience in creating a PDP or PDP-like PLM product.
- Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM product.
- Experience developing and maintaining system models using MBSE tools such as Cameo.
- Experience with wire gauge sizing, voltage drop analysis, and derating analysis.
- Experience with electro-mechanical or instrumentation system development and design.
- Experience with Data Acquisition and Instrumentation systems.
- Experience with EMI/RF principles and their application to harness shielding.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
