Position Summary:
The Supplier Quality Engineer functions as a liaison between quality, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and to provide technical support and manage supplier performance.

Accountabilities:
- Evaluate and audit supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems to ensure compliance with company, customer and applicable industry requirements.
- Exercise authority to stop production and/or prevent shipment when actual or potential product nonconformance could impact customers.
- Identify root causes of supplier quality issues and coordinate timely, effective corrective actions and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate and complete supplier quality documentation and records.
- Promptly escalate critical supplier quality issues to Supplier Quality leadership.
- Review and approve supplier quality plans for new product programs.
- Support environmental objectives by implementing sustainable processes, identifying improvement opportunities, reducing waste, and addressing environmental performance findings.
- Ensure suppliers understand and comply with product specifications and submission requirements.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years' experience in manufacturing, quality or engineering required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant quality and engineering software, such as Minitab, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PC-DMIS and CMM programming; ability to effectively use supplier and customer software systems.
- Six Sigma training or certification preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues and determine appropriate courses of action.
- Working knowledge of supplier quality standards, policies and procedures, FMEA, and control plans.
- Ability to investigate quality issues, apply sound technical judgment and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional certification through the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and/or ISO auditor certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent education and/or relevant experience will be considered.
