Job Summary (Basic Functions) : LG Chem Advance Materials, Inc. (LGCTA) is actively searching for an Electrical Distribution Technician to join our team in Clarksville, TN. The Electrical Distribution Technician will be an individual contributor reporting to the Production Manager and work alongside our Electrical Distribution team. The Electrical Distribution Technician will perform skilled installation, inspection, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, repair, switching support, and restoration of facility electrical distribution systems. The technician maintains equipment according to approved procedures, engineering requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and electrical safety standards; coaches developing technicians; supports outages and projects; and identifies improvements that reduce risk, equipment failure, and production downtime

THIS POSITION IS BASED FULL-TIME IN CLARKSVILLE, TN AND IS NOT A REMOTE ROLE.

What You’ll Be Doing

Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):

Electrical Safety and Work Control:

- Apply site electrical safety, energy-control, permit, and work-planning requirements.
- Lead or participate in pre-job briefs, hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
- Establish an electrically safe work condition; select and inspect rated tools, instruments, grounding equipment, barriers, and PPE.
- Interpret incident-energy labels and approach boundaries; verify absence of voltage using the approved live-dead-live method; stop work when field conditions invalidate the plan.

Electrical Distribution Maintenance:

- Inspect, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair assigned low-voltage and authorized medium-voltage systems.
- Service switchgear, switchboards, breakers, transformers, MCCs, panelboards, grounding and bonding systems, protective devices, batteries, chargers, UPS systems, generators, transfer equipment, VFDs, and auxiliary systems.
- Perform breaker inspection and functional testing plus approved insulation resistance, continuity, winding resistance, voltage, current, phase rotation, grounding, and power-quality measurements.
- Support infrared, partial-discharge, oil, relay, and specialized predictive testing when qualified.

Troubleshooting and Restoration:

- Diagnose complex faults using drawings, system knowledge, instruments, fault indications, alarms, and equipment history.
- Respond to interruptions and safely restore facility and production loads.
- Troubleshoot motors, control power, starters, contactors, overloads, VFDs, and PLC input/output signals without unauthorized programming changes.
- Communicate temporary repairs, system limitations, bypassed functions, and residual risks.

Switching & Systems Operations:

- Perform switching only within documented qualification and written authorization.
- Review switching instructions, one-line diagrams, equipment identification, load conditions, and contingency plans.
- Execute approved sequences using clear communication; install or remove protective grounds only when qualified and authorized.
- Support planned outages, shutdowns, commissioning, and emergency restoration; verify final system configuration.

Reliability, Documentation and Leadership:

- Execute PM and PdM, analyze repeat failures and condition data, participate in RCA, and develop effective corrective actions.
- Support equipment replacement, capital projects, commissioning, field verification, redlines, settings, and acceptance testing.
- Complete work orders, switching records, test reports, deficiency reports, and shift handovers.
- Coach entry-level technicians and coordinate with Operations, Engineering, EHS, contractors, and vendors.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What We’re Looking For

Competencies/Desired Skills:

- Electrical Safety & Quality Focus: Ensure all electrical distribution work is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with established procedures, electrical standards, and company requirements. Maintain high standards of workmanship while identifying and addressing electrical hazards, equipment deficiencies, and reliability concerns.
- Electrical Troubleshooting, Decision Making & Analysis: Ability to effectively troubleshoot electrical distribution systems, identify equipment or system abnormalities, interpret technical information, and determine appropriate corrective actions. Analyze electrical issues using available data, system conditions, drawings, and diagnostic tools while considering safety, operational impact, and equipment reliability.
- Electrical Distribution Technical Knowledge: –Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment, including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, motor control centers (MCCs), electrical panels, protective devices, and related power distribution components. Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
- Preventative Maintenance & Equipment Reliability: Perform and support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on electrical distribution equipment to improve system reliability and minimize unplanned downtime. Identify developing equipment issues and communicate recommended repairs, replacements, or improvements.

Education:

- High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Military Training, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship, trade school, or recognized electrical certification program may be considered in lieu of an associate degree.

Requirements:

- Basic electrical theory, tools, safe-work practices, calculations, and measurement interpretation.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic test equipment after training and to read procedures, labels, safety information, and basic electrical drawings.
- Clear communication, teamwork, and ability to meet shift, overtime, attendance, and emergency-response requirements.

- Able to Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours and Participate in on-call rotation
- Able to respond off hours and weekends to troubleshoot plant issues.
- Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 40 lbs.;
- Exposure to heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards;
- Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other garments as needed. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, Masks, full body gowns, hair nets, gloves and hearing protection.

Preferred Qualification/What We’d Like to See:

- Experience with three-phase power, motor controls, transformers, panelboards, MCCs, LAMP System, or advanced manufacturing.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
- Proficiency in the use of PC and Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word etc.)
