Gastro Care Partners is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused part-time Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting our providers, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring every patient feels welcomed, informed, and cared for throughout their visit.

The Medical Assistant serves as an integral member of the care team by preparing patients for examinations, coordinating clinical workflows, maintaining accurate medical records, and assisting providers in delivering efficient, compassionate care.

Work Authorization & Residency Requirements

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout their employment. Gastro Care Partners does not provide employment visa sponsorship now for this position. Additionally, employees hired for this position must reside in the State of Wyoming no later than their first day of employment and maintain residency in Wyoming.

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and discharge, including obtaining vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and documenting information in the EMR.

Assist physicians and RNs with patient care, clinical procedures, treatments and other duties within the Medical Assistant's scope of practice.

Provide patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions and respond to routine patient questions regarding preparation, follow-up care, and other clinical matters.

Clinical Documentation/Scribing: Accurately document patient encounters in the EMR, including medical history, symptoms, examination findings, treatment plans, and provider instructions as directed by the provider.

Provider Support & Chart Management: Prepare and update patient charts, review intake information, assist with documentation, and help ensure medical records are complete and organized to support efficient provider workflows.

Care Coordination & Follow-Up: Assist with documenting and coordinating referrals, orders, test results, pathology information, procedures, and follow-up instructions as directed by the provider.

Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes, concerns, or emergency situations to the appropriate provider or clinical team member.

Prepare and maintain examination and procedure areas, including cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, and maintaining appropriate inventory.

Perform administrative duties, including scheduling, answering phones, filing, scanning, data entry, patient registration, and other front-office responsibilities as needed.

Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.

Collaborate with providers and team members to support efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements described below are representative of those necessary to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to regularly stand and walk throughout the workday.

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform physical movements associated with patient care.

Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.

Ability to assist with patient positioning, transfers, and mobility as needed.

Manual dexterity necessary to perform clinical tasks, document patient encounters, and operate medical and computer equipment.

Sufficient visual and auditory ability to observe patients, read clinical information, and communicate effectively.

Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Current Medical Assistant certification required.

Current BLS certification required.

Strong computer and typing skills with the ability to accurately document patient encounters in real time.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

Ability to effectively utilize electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technology.

Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including HIPAA and organizational policies and procedures.

Must be able to pass a drug test which includes Marijuana
