Standard Job Description

The Advanced Programs and Exploitation (APEX) team within Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a skilled software engineer to support the integration and verification of space-based mission processing software for OPIR data used in missile warning and defense programs.

In this position, you will focus on bringing together software, hardware, algorithms, and mission processing components and ensuring that the complete system operates as intended. You will develop automated test capabilities, troubleshoot complex integration issues, and work across engineering disciplines to identify and resolve problems.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

* Developing software and automated test applications in C++, Python, and other languages
* Integrating mission processing software across development, simulation, and target environments
* Developing automated unit, integration, functional, and regression tests
* Building test frameworks and tools to verify mission processing functionality
* Developing test data and test scenarios representative of operational environments
* Troubleshooting software and system integration issues
* Analyzing test results and identifying root causes of failures
* Working closely with software, FPGA, hardware, algorithm, and systems engineers during integration
* Supporting hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing
* Supporting continuous integration and automated regression testing
* Documenting test procedures, results, defects, and verification evidence
* Participating in formal software verification and system qualification activities

This position is located in our offices in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.

Basic Qualifications

* Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering,

or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related technical field

* Development experience in C++, Python, or another modern programming language
* Experience with software testing, debugging, or integration
* Ability to obtain a Secret government clearance

Desired Skills

* Experience developing automated software test frameworks
* Experience with unit, integration, functional, and regression testing
* Experience with GoogleTest, pytest, or similar testing frameworks
* Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop testing
* Experience with CI/CD and automated regression testing
* Experience with Linux
* Experience with test data generation and analysis
* Experience troubleshooting distributed or embedded systems
* Experience with requirements-based verification
* Experience with mission processing, image processing, or signal processing
* Experience working with hardware/software integration
* Experience with aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical systems
* Active security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00
