Standard Job Description

You will be the Manufacturing Engineer Staff for the Manufacturing Engineering team. Our team is responsible for delivering advanced missile and fire‑control systems.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Manufacturing Engineer Staff you will be responsible for converting early‑stage designs into producible, cost‑effective hardware that satisfies warfighter requirements and advances the effort from development through low‑rate and full‑rate production.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

\- Partner with design, engineering, and production to transition new products and processes into manufacturing, reducing risk and schedule impact.

\- Lead early‑production readiness activities and provide real‑time feedback during assembly and flight‑test preparation.

\- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and Manufacturing Readiness Level artifacts.

\- Conduct cost‑reduction and affordability analyses and present concise briefs to Integrated Product Team meetings.

\- Mentor junior engineering staff and drive cross‑functional communication with program stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Manufacturing, Systems, or a related engineering discipline).
* Manufacturing‑engineering experience in an aerospace/defense environment, including hands‑on shop‑floor work; preferably in new‑product‑development that advances designs from development into production.
* Experience authoring, revising, and maintaining work instructions and manufacturing plans.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex technical data to non‑technical audiences and influence senior leaders.
* Proven DFM/DFC experience and strong knowledge of machining, assembly, electrical integration, and process development.
* Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build cross‑functional teams, and deliver results in fast‑paced settings.
* Willingness to travel to MFC sites, supplier facilities, and other LM locations (~50 % of time).
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearancce, therefore must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills

* Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (certification preferred).
* Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
* Experience with SAP MRP or a comparable production‑control system.
* Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVMS) concepts.
* Experience with Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL).
* Background in mechanical‑assembly, tooling, factory layout, and flow optimization.
* Exposure to additive manufacturing, high‑speed machining, or automation.
* Experience leading Design‑for‑Manufacturing events, trade studies, or workshops.
* Design Experience using CREO or other CAD programs.
* Aerospace/Defense/Aviation experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
