ExxonMobil in Malaysia
In Malaysia, we host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil’s Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses worldwide. In the upstream, we have interests in two Production Sharing Contracts with PETRONAS, while in the Product Solutions business, we supply a portfolio of specialty chemical products to the marketplace.

## Job Role Description
The Fixed Bed Conversion Engineer - Advanced applies process engineering skills, manufacturing knowledge, and emerging leadership capabilities (with guidance from an Expert Engineer as needed) to:
- Provide technical support and resolve moderately complex issues on existing manufacturing assets.
- Contribute to the development and early-stage deployment of new technologies.
- Support the design, implementation, and commissioning of small- to medium-scale projects within their discipline.
- Build a strong working knowledge of technology fundamentals and tools used in their assigned area.
- Collaborate effectively with internal partners to execute work and share learnings.
This role focuses on building technical depth and developing foundational leadership skills in preparation for increased responsibility.
Regional impact is expected, primarily within assigned assets or technology areas.
The Advanced Engineer may assist in developing less experienced engineers by sharing functional and behavioral skills, but does so on an informal basis.
## Job Role Responsibilities
- Provide requested technical support to improve safety, reliability, and margin capture through analysis, troubleshooting, and data-driven problem solving under the guidance of more senior engineers.
- Contribute to turnaround support, non routine problem solving, catalyst evaluations, and data visualization activities.
- Support the development and deployment of new or improved technologies, including modeling and simulation, adapting established design practices, and preparing technical documentation.
- Apply technology fundamentals while developing deeper expertise.
- Support improvement projects at manufacturing sites by performing modeling, assisting with design of specialty equipment, and contributing to process documentation and deliverables.
- Provide informal mentorship to early career engineers and participate in discipline networks to share technical learnings.
- Participate as a member of multi discipline teams to resolve technical challenges, escalating issues appropriately.
- Contribute ideas for improving work processes, tools, and cross functional workflows.
- Demonstrate the ability to influence without formal authority as skills and experience develop
