RN- Care Team Leader–Thoracic Surgery Unit–IMC and General Care (B4/3)

Work Schedule :

90% FTE, Day/evening shift rotation, one in three weekend rotation, and holiday rotation. Hours are based off the operational needs of the department. We offer a competitive starting pay, relevant work experience will be considered, this position also includes a shift/weekend differential. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay:

- Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials - $4/hour evening and $4.25/hour weekend differential as applicable for hours worked

We are seeking a Care Team Leader (CTL) / Charge Nurse to:

- Motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
- Join our incredible Thoracic Surgery team caring for a variety of patients that may include: lung and esophageal diseases, lobectomies, decortications, esophagectomies and other thoracic procedures. This 7-bed unit with spacious rooms provides a quiet comforting environment for patients to heal.
- Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
- Direct and lead nursing staff to ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service and sound financial management.
- Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers.

Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing Preferred

Work Experience:

- 2 years experience in an inpatient unit Required
- 2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit Required
- 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit Preferred
- Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population Preferred

Licenses & Certifications:

- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
- Current CPR/BLS certification Required
- ACLS within 6 months Required
- National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
