Starting Pay: $25.00/hour + $3.00/hour night differential, with higher pay available based on experience
Job Overview
Seeking an experienced Industrial Painter/Sandblaster to prepare metal surfaces and apply protective industrial coatings. This position requires experience with blasting, spray application, coating inspection, and working safely in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

- Prepare metal surfaces by sandblasting to remove rust, scale, and existing coatings.

- Mask surfaces and prepare areas for coating application.

- Mix and apply epoxy, urethane, and zinc-rich primers .

- Operate airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment .

- Use technical drawings, work orders, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to complete work according to specifications.

- Verify coating thickness and follow required application standards.

- Inspect painting and blasting equipment and make minor repairs or adjustments when needed.

- Maintain equipment in safe, proper working condition.

- Work in confined spaces, at heights, and under varying environmental conditions.

- Follow PPE, confined-space, fall/height, and other required safety procedures.

- Document surface preparation, paint application, job progress, and quality-control information.

- Work effectively with team members and communicate job-related information.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.

- 2–3 years of industrial painting and sandblasting experience.

- Proficiency with airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment.

- Experience with sandblasting, masking, and other surface preparation methods.

- Knowledge of epoxy, urethane, and zinc-rich coatings.

- Ability to read technical drawings, work orders, and SDS documents.

- Familiarity with coating thickness requirements and measurement tools.

- Strong knowledge of PPE and safe work practices for confined spaces and elevated work.

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work.

- Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime when needed.

- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and quality-control skills.

- Effective communicator and team player.
