About the Role

As a Senior Associate, Research & Analysis, you will manage a portfolio of International Banking clients in Hong Kong to carry out the Research & Analysis function.

Research & Analysis is primarily responsible for identifying and effectively managing risks inherent in the client's business model and industry. The team is also responsible for identifying and managing risks inherent in the client’s capital and management structure and financial results. The primary activities of the role include:

- Preparation of quality credit papers with proper evaluation of risks and formulation of well-structured risk mitigation strategies

- Consistently make sound, high-quality credit recommendations, based on thorough financial analysis and deep dive industry research and analysis

- Portfolio analysis and monitoring including risk grade review event management

- Managing stakeholders across a team including Relationship, Risk and Product Partners

- Key coordination point for MNC customers and ensuring booking point credit risk, policy and regulatory requirements are met

What will your day look like?

- Assist in achieving revenue growth targets and maximise revenue/RWA for Institutional Clients within the Hong Kong Portfolio

- Attend bank meetings and customer meetings together with Relationship Managers to ensure strong understanding of customer business model and industry.

- Build strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure deep, up to date segment knowledge and customer aligned industry insights.

- Contribute to the development of strategy and supporting plans for strategic customer growth via new transactions as well as managing deteriorating credits.

- Maintain portfolio credit quality and remain within agreed risk appetite, including timely review of customer performance ensuring a strong 1st line of defence.

- Build a profile across ANZ network to ensure smooth client management across global network

- Deliver quality, concise, relevant and timely credit papers

- Maintain effective and timely ongoing risk monitoring

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

- Proven experience in credit and risk analysis across Institutional and Large Corporate Banking clients.

- Strong understanding of banking products and loan structures, including trade finance and global markets products.

- Strategic and commercially minded, with a demonstrated ability to effectively balance risk and reward considerations in decision-making.

- Highly motivated, self-driven team player with excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline preferred.
