About the Role

The Manager, Stress Testing & Forecasting plays a key role in supporting ANZ's understanding of portfolio resilience, emerging risk and capital adequacy outcomes under a range of scenarios.

Sitting within the Wholesale Stress Testing & Forecasting team, this role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-quality stress testing and forecasting outcomes across the Wholesale portfolios (Institutional and B&PB), supporting risk management, strategic decision-making, capital planning and regulatory requirements.

This is an opportunity to develop deep expertise in portfolio analytics, scenario analysis and stress testing, while partnering with stakeholders across Risk, Finance and the Business. The role would suit a risk or analytics professional with a good understanding of credit risk, strong analytical skills and an interest in developing deeper expertise in stress testing and forecasting.

What could your day look like?

As Manager, Stress Testing and Forecasting, you will have the opportunity to:

- Support the execution, analysis and interpretation of stress testing and forecasting across Wholesale portfolios.

- Deliver stress testing and forecasting activities for key regulatory and internal exercises, including ICAAP and Industry Wide Stress Tests.

- Analyse portfolio performance under stressed and forecast conditions, identifying key risk drivers, emerging trends and areas of vulnerability.

- Review analytical and model outputs, investigate unexpected results and challenge assumptions where appropriate.

- Produce high quality analysis, reporting and insights to support management decision-making and risk management discussions.

- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of stress testing methodologies, frameworks, and assumptions and governance processes.

- Support the continuous improvement of stress testing and forecasting capabilities through innovation, learning and best practice application.

- Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Technology and the Business to support the ongoing development and effectiveness of stress testing and forecasting capabilities.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

- Experience in credit risk, risk analytics, or modelling within banking or financial services. Around 5 years’ experience in a related field would be advantageous.

- Strong understanding of wholesale credit risk concepts, including Expected Credit Loss (IFRS 9), Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), portfolio risk management and scenario analysis.

- Experience delivering or supporting stress testing, forecasting or risk analytics activities within a banking environment.

- Apply strong credit risk and modelling knowledge to assess stress testing outcomes, challenge assumptions and understand key portfolio risk drivers.

- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex results and explain findings and outcomes clearly.

- Good attention to detail and a focus on producing accurate, high-quality analysis.

- Experience using data and analytical tools (e.g. SQL, SAS, R, Python, Excel).

- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, collaborative environment with evolving requirements and timelines.

- A growth mindset with the willingness to develop deeper expertise in stress testing and forecasting.

- Tertiary qualification in an analytics-based discipline (e.g. statistics, actuarial science, mathematics, finance, quantitative finance, engineering).
