EPC Director, GMF India EPC Management

Earlier this year, building on the solid foundation of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) as a fund manager, we introduced an optimized CIP Platform, with three platform companies providing services to CIP. In our optimized CIP Platform, CIP Terra Technologies (CIP TT) – a project delivery company delivering projects from onshore wind, solar PV and battery energy storage systems, to bioenergy, thermal and transmission infrastructure – is currently looking for an EPC Director, to join our office in Mumbai, India

Role

The EPC Director will manage the end-to-end execution of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, and hybrid systems) from early-stage development through to construction and commissioning. This role is pivotal in ensuring technical robustness, regulatory compliance, and commercial viability from site identification while also overseeing the seamless transition from development to construction.

Responsibilities will further consist of:

EPC leadership

- Lead the EPC workstream from late-stage development through FID /, construction, commissioning and COD.
- Ensure EPC delivery is aligned with project schedule, budget, safety, quality and performance requirements.
- Build a delivery culture focused on safety, accountability, progress and issue resolution.

Engineering and construction delivery

- Oversee engineering, design finalisation, construction, installation, testing and commissioning.
- Manage key technical interfaces across BESS supply, balance of plant, grid connection, owner’s engineer, operations and maintenance, and project stakeholders.

Contractor and supplier management

- Manage contractors, suppliers and advisers against agreed scope, schedule and quality requirements.
- Support procurement and contract finalization for EPC-related scopes, working with CIPTT’s procurement and technical teams

HSE and quality

- Ensure EPC activities are executed in line with highest health, safety, environment (HSE), environmental, social and governance (ESG), and quality standards.
- Oversee quality assurance / quality control, inspection, testing, commissioning and defect close-out processes.

Reporting and stakeholder coordination

- Provide clear EPC progress reporting to the Project CEO
- Support Project Board / Steering Committee reporting with concise, decision-ready EPC updates.
- Work effectively with Japanese counterparties, authorities and international CIP / CIPTT stakeholders.

You

We are looking for 15+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy onshore wind, utility-scale solar, and/or storage systems with degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.· Relevant experience in EPC leadership, construction management or owner-side project delivery from development / FID through construction and commissioning.

We look for the following in a candidate

- Extensive experience: extensive experience in renewable energy development, including optimizing plant layout and design solutions based on site conditions, environmental constraints, and logistics.
- Demonstrated experience: managed the development of renewable energy projects from technical/engineering/procurement perspective with the projects reaching Financial Close and/or COD.
- Extensive commercial and procurement acumen, with ability to shape competitive, compliant bid strategies.
- Effective leadership: Conduct effective project leadership & team management
- Stakeholder management: can coordinate with partners and maintain key stakeholder relationships
- Good network: have an established network of industry professionals, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for various stages and scope of works of development activities.
- Great communication skills: Fluent in English with effective communication and presentation skills, including having ability to document project information and risks in a concise manner.
- Team-oriented: ability to take initiative and work efficiently and collaboratively within a lean team and manage different workstreams simultaneously.
- Highly accountable and motivated individual who is thriving in a highly effective and innovative environment
