The Mission Software Solutions business delivers customized and off-the-shelf software solutions to Defence, Intelligence and other Government sectors. The business also builds capabilities that can be used for a wide range of applications in both traditional and non-traditional environments; providing leadership in the advancement of technological modernisation of complex enterprises within Government.

The Opportunity

You will be joining a high-profile program, with high profile agency working on a program with National Security significance. As a Core Services Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, performance and continuous improvement of Windows-based enterprise services supporting secure customer environments. Due to the client environment and nature of the work, this position is required to be performed 100% onsite in either Melbourne or Canberra.

In this role, you will:

- Design, administer and support enterprise Windows Server platforms, Active Directory services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and supporting management systems across secure environments.
- Build, maintain and optimise virtualised infrastructure hosted on VMware platforms, ensuring availability, resilience, performance and security requirements are achieved.
- Implement automation, standard operating procedures and infrastructure improvements that enhance operational efficiency, platform stability and service quality.
- Collaborate with cyber security specialists, infrastructure engineers, software teams and customer stakeholders to deliver trusted and supportable technology solutions.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings judgement, curiosity and a collaborative approach to work that matters. You are an experienced Windows Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and maintaining reliable enterprise services in mission-critical environments.

Essential for this role:

- Experience administering and supporting Windows Server environments within medium to large enterprise environments.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and identity management services.
- Experience supporting VMware vCenter and virtualised server infrastructure, including provisioning, maintenance and lifecycle management.
- Exposure to security hardening, patching, monitoring and operational support activities within enterprise environments.
- Ability to develop and maintain PowerShell scripts, or similar automation solutions, to improve operational efficiency.
- Capability to investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis and resolve infrastructure incidents across complex environments.
- Experience producing technical documentation, implementation guides and operational procedures.
- Effective collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical teams, project stakeholders and service delivery personnel.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian citizen and hold, and maintain, a TSPV clearance.
