About this role
Under the overall supervision of the Project Development and Reporting Officer and the direct supervision of the Media and Communications Officer, and in close coordination with programme teams, the Media and Communications Intern supports knowledge management, media monitoring and internal communications for IOM Cambodia. The intern strengthens the Mission’s information base, maintains its communications records, and responds to internal requests for communications support across all programme areas.
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Multi-media Arts, Journalism, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences or a related field from an accredited academic institution, completed within the last 12 months; or,
- Enrolment in the final academic year of such a programme.
Experience
- Experience in photo and video coverage, content creation and production, including through academic work, volunteering or previous internships;
- Experience in research, information management or content organization;
- Experience in media monitoring, media analysis or news writing is an asset;
- Experience in social media management is an asset;
- Understanding of migration dynamics in Cambodia and the wider Mekong region is an asset;
- Experience working with international, non-governmental or civil society organizations is an asset.
