Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Factory Carpenter to join our Manufacturing Team in Cape Town. Operating within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will interpret production drawings, prepare materials, and assemble high-quality elements for prefabricated wall and roof panels
Unlike site-based construction, this role is entirely factory-based, requiring precision, repetitive accuracy, and efficient machine operation while adhering to strict production schedules and occupational health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Assembly:
Cut, shutter, casting, and assembling raw EPS according to technical specifications and cutting lists.
Machinery Operation:
Safely set up and operate factory machinery, including CNC hot wire cutters and CNC routers.
Workshop drawing Interpretation:
Read, interpret, and work accurately from cutting schedules and assembly drawings.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular measurements and checks to ensure all finished products meet exact factory tolerance standards and design specifications before packaging and dispatch
Maintenance & Safety:
Perform routine daily maintenance on tools and machinery, and conduct a daily stock take of consumables. Report any stock shortages or machinery breakages to the Foreman.
Maintain a clean, organized workstation and strictly adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act guidelines.
Material Management:
Minimize material wastage through smart layout planning.
Time management:
Adhere to strict project timelines

Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven carpentry experience, specifically within a factory, shopfitting, or furniture manufacturing environment.
Education/Trade : Valid Trade Test Certificate in Carpentry or Joinery (highly advantageous). Grade 12 or NTC equivalents are beneficial.
Tool Proficiency : Expert proficiency with both heavy industrial machinery and portable power tools.
Physical Fitness : Ability to handle the physical demands of a factory environment, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods.
Language: Fluency in English or Afrikaans to effectively interpret briefs and communicate with the factory team.

Salary: Market-related hourly rate, commensurate with experience and trade qualifications (aligned with South African Building Industry Bargaining Council standards where applicable).
