ROLE SUMMARY:
The British College of Gava is seeking to appoint an inspiring and knowledgeable Economics IB Teacher to join our successful secondary team as soon as possible. The successful candidate will teach Economics within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), delivering engaging and academically rigorous lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Economics lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme curriculum.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students and ensure excellent outcomes.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Participate fully in departmental planning, curriculum development, and moderation activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A recognised teaching qualification and relevant degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Economics at secondary level, preferably within the IB Diploma Programme.
- A strong understanding of effective teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Economics and global affairs.
- The ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students of varying abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
