Senior Design Manager (m/f/d) Firestopping Coordination

The Firestopping Coordinator (m/f/d) is responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision and documentation of all firestopping measures throughout the Engineering, Construction and Commissioning phases of a project. They ensure that all penetrations for services, piping, cables and ventilation systems are installed and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements, fire protection concepts and manufacturer approvals.

## Explore your tasks and responsibilities

- Take overall responsibility for coordinating all firestopping activities throughout the Engineering, Construction and Commissioning phases.
- Review and implement fire protection concepts, authority requirements, expert inspection requirements, applicable standards and manufacturer approvals.
- Coordinate interfaces between Architecture, CSA, HVAC, Piping, Electrical, Automation, QA/QC and specialist subcontractors.
- Identify and assess penetrations for piping, cables, ducts and other services and define suitable firestopping solutions and standard details.
- Monitor the proper execution of firestopping works on site, including site inspections, quality checks, defect tracking and remedial works.
- Organize and support pre-inspections, interim inspections as well as inspections and approvals by authorities and independent experts.
- Establish and maintain the digital firestopping register and ensure complete, auditable documentation and as-built documentation.

## Show your expertise

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Services Engineering or a related field, or qualification as a technician/master craftsman with relevant experience in passive fire protection.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in passive fire protection, ideally in pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor or comparable industrial projects.
- Experience in the design and execution of large-scale projects and a solid understanding of construction processes within an EPC/EPCM environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, particularly DIN 4102, EN 1366, EN 13501, MLAR/MBO and, where applicable, Austrian OIB guidelines.
- Experience with fire protection concepts, expert inspections, manufacturer approvals, ETA systems and common firestopping systems.
- Proficiency in digital documentation and project management platforms such as ACC, BIM360, Procore or PMWeb.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, assertiveness on construction sites and a structured, quality-oriented approach to work.
