About this role

Job Description:

Maintain accurate books for the management company and, where required, for administered client entities, so management, boards and regulators can rely on complete, timely financial records.

Specific Work Experience, Knowledge and Skills required to fulfil the role:

- Bookkeeping or accounting qualification (ACCA foundation, or equivalent practical experience).

- 3+ years bookkeeping in professional services, fiduciary, fund admin, or a Mauritius management / corporate services environment.

- Confident with double-entry, multi-currency and bank reconciliations.

- Working knowledge of Mauritius record-keeping, invoicing and basic MRA requirements.

- Accurate and efficient in processing

- Competent in Excel

- Deadline driven

Key Accountabilities :

Company books

- Record supplier invoices, client billing, receipts, payments, journals and bank transactions.

- Maintain purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash book and general ledger.

- Perform bank, receivable and payable reconciliations.

- Process petty cash, staff claims and credit-card expenses with supporting documents.

- Maintain fixed-asset register and prepayments / accruals schedules.

- Assist with month-end close and management accounts packs.

Client and structure accounting (as assigned)

- Keep books for administered companies, trusts or other structures to the agreed chart of accounts and reporting calendar.

- Post fees, disbursements, director/trustee costs and third-party invoices to the correct entity.

- Reconcile client entity bank accounts and highlight unallocated or unusual items.

- Prepare simple management reports, trial balances and supporting schedules for client boards or relationship managers.

- Do not mix client assets with firm funds. Escalate any uncertainty immediately.

Tax, statutory and regulatory support

- Prepare working papers for MRA filings (including VAT where registered, PAYE/CSG/NSF if on payroll support, and corporate tax packs).

- Maintain invoice and record-keeping standards suitable for audit and FSC / management-company inspections.

- Support year-end with the external accountant or auditor (lead schedules, confirmations, cut-off).

- Track filing deadlines and flag delays early.
