The Export-Import Specialist (All genders welcome) at the Kia Europe Headquarters in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
This is a temporary (fixed-term) position with an expected end date of February 2028.

Job Mission:

The Export-Import Specialist is responsible for supporting daily trade finance and export/import operations, including invoice administration, documentary collections and Letters of Credit, shipping documentation, customer payment reconciliation, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. The role ensures compliance with internal procedures and trade finance requirements, supports process improvements and SAP Trade activities, and acts as backup for the Export-Import Assistant Manager during absences. The Export-Import Team operates within Kia Europe’s Treasury Department and reports directly to the Senior Manager Treasury.

Key Responsibilities:

- Invoice Administration & Reconciliation: Administer car sales invoices, including verification, issuance, saving, sending, archiving, and month-end reconciliation.
- Trade Finance Documentation: Prepare and submit Letter of Credit (L/C) presentation documents in line with applicable trade finance requirements. Process, file, and archive Documents against Acceptance (D/A) files.
- Financial Security & Insurance Support: Update financial security information for assigned markets on a regular basis and prepare supporting data for insurance calculation and internal reporting.
- Shipping Documentation & Closing: Distribute shipping documents to subsidiaries and distributors, coordinate the document flow, and execute shipment-closing activities and related documentation updates.
- Trade Payment Reconciliation: Clear and reconcile incoming customer payments in SAP Trade.
- Document & Records Management: Manage and maintain EXIM-related electronic archiving structures and documentation repositories. Archive EXIM documentation in accordance with internal record-retention requirements.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and communicate with European subsidiaries, distributors, affiliates, and internal stakeholders on EXIM-related matters.
- Analysis, Reporting & Operational Support: Prepare trade-related analyses, provide operational support to other business functions, and prepare regular and ad hoc reports for management and other stakeholders.
- Projects & Process Improvements: Support project-related implementations, process improvements, and system enhancements within the EXIM function.
- Backup Responsibility: Act as backup for the Export-Import Assistant Manager during periods of absence and ensure continuity of assigned operational activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
- Experience : At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in Export/Import, Trade Finance, Finance, Accounting, or a related operational function. Experience with import/export regulations and documentary business is advantageous.
- Technical Skills : Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and practical knowledge of invoice administration, trade finance products, shipping documentation, payment reconciliation, electronic archiving, and SAP Trade processes.
- Soft Skills : Strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, strong organizational and time-management skills, drive, motivation, and a positive attitude.
- Language Skills: Excellent English proficiency; German at least B2 level preferred.
- Certifications (Preferred): Relevant qualifications in international trade, trade finance, or export/import operations are an advantage.
