Part 3 - About this opportunity

What you’ll do

The Governance, Reporting & Transformation Lead provides function-wide leadership across the governance, reporting and transformation agenda for Risk and Information Security (RIS). The role establishes the management disciplines, information flows and change mechanisms needed to support effective oversight, transparent decision-making and reliable delivery across all RIS verticals.

Operating at Grade F, the role holder owns the integrated GRT agenda rather than a single workstream. They set direction, establish standards, resolve cross-functional dependencies and provide credible challenge to senior stakeholders. The role translates strategic priorities into governed plans, measurable outcomes and clear executive reporting, while ensuring that business requirements, resources, risks and delivery commitments remain aligned.

The role holder leads the design and continuous improvement of the RIS governance and reporting architecture, including Executive and Board reporting, management information, accountability frameworks, assessment planning, policy governance, headcount and financial reporting. They also oversee the transformation roadmap, ensuring initiatives are prioritised, tested, adopted and tracked through to benefits realisation.

Leadership accountabilities

·    Lead the Governance, Reporting & Transformation capability for RIS, setting priorities, standards and delivery expectations across the function.

·    Act as a trusted adviser to RIS leadership, providing clear, evidence-based insight on performance, delivery status, risks, dependencies, resourcing and decisions required.

·    Create alignment across RIS verticals by establishing common governance, reporting definitions, metrics, templates, data standards and escalation routes.

·    Own the integrated GRT roadmap and ensure that governance, reporting and transformation activity is coordinated, sequenced and focused on measurable business outcomes.

·    Provide leadership, coaching and direction to colleagues supporting the GRT portfolio, building capability and reinforcing ownership and accountability.

·    Influence senior stakeholders across business, risk, technology and enabling functions to secure decisions, resolve issues and sustain delivery momentum.

Key responsibilities

G - Governance

·    Manage the RIS Risk & Compliance Assessment Planner and governance calendar, ensuring assessment activity and key governance commitments are visible, coordinated and tracked.

·    Develop and maintain the RIS Communication Plan, aligning communications to governance cycles, transformation milestones and stakeholder needs.

·    Own the escalation, decision-making and issue-resolution framework, ensuring matters are routed to the correct forum with clear ownership and decision records.

·    Define and govern SLA and KPI metrics for all verticals, with consistent definitions, ownership, thresholds and reporting expectations.

·    Manage policy, procedure and standards governance, including oversight of review cycles, ownership and status reporting.

·    Maintain RACI and accountability matrices and current operating model documentation.

·    Maintain central repositories for assessments, processes and procedures, with appropriate structure, ownership and version discipline.

·    Support implementation of new governance and reporting frameworks and monitor their adoption and effectiveness.

R - Reporting

·    Review and rationalise the current reporting landscape, removing duplication and establishing a coherent, audience-led reporting model.

·    Design and implement the future-state reporting architecture for RIS, covering data inputs, controls, reporting products, ownership and governance.

·    Publish and coordinate weekly, fortnightly, monthly, Executive and Board reporting, ensuring content is accurate, decision-oriented and delivered to agreed timelines.

·    Manage OKR and KPI reporting across RIS and provide a consolidated view of performance, exceptions, trends and actions.

·    Manage RIS headcount, recruitment and resource reporting, bringing together demand, capacity, vacancies and recruitment status.

·    Manage financial reporting and budget tracking, providing transparent oversight of position, movement, risks and required actions.

·    Consolidate risk, compliance and information security performance metrics into consistent management information and executive dashboards.

·    Monitor reporting quality, timeliness and data integrity, escalating material gaps and driving corrective action.

·    Maintain and report assessment and project status across all RIS verticals.

T - Transformation

·    Ensure business requirements are captured, assessed and prioritised against strategic outcomes, risk, value, capacity and dependencies.

·    Oversee delivery of transformation initiatives and the change roadmap, maintaining line of sight from approved requirement through delivery and adoption.

·    Ensure business testing, user acceptance testing and sign-off activities are completed and evidenced before implementation.

·    Support delivery of reporting automation and Power BI enhancements, ensuring solutions address agreed business requirements and strengthen control, efficiency and insight.

·    Ensure applications and tooling align with business requirements and integrate with the future-state governance and reporting architecture.

·    Drive process simplification, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives across RIS.

·    Track transformation deliverables, dependencies, risks and benefits realisation, escalating where outcomes or commitments are at risk.

·    Support adoption, training and business readiness activities so that change is embedded and sustained.

What you’ll need

·    Demonstrable leadership experience across governance, executive reporting, business management or transformation in a complex, regulated environment.

·    Strong understanding of risk and control management and the ability to translate risk, compliance and information security activity into clear oversight and decision support.

·    Experience designing and operating governance frameworks, management information, KPI/OKR structures, reporting calendars and escalation mechanisms.

·    Experience leading cross-functional transformation portfolios, including requirements prioritisation, delivery governance, testing, adoption and benefits tracking.

·    Ability to operate credibly with senior and executive stakeholders, provide constructive challenge and secure timely decisions across organisational boundaries.

·    Strong analytical judgement, with the ability to identify inconsistencies, test the integrity of information and convert complex inputs into concise, decision-oriented reporting.

·    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for operational, Executive and Board audiences.

·    Commercial and resource awareness, including oversight of budgets, headcount, recruitment, capacity and delivery trade-offs.

·    Ability to lead through ambiguity, establish structure where it does not yet exist and maintain momentum across competing priorities.

·    A collaborative leadership style that develops capability, reinforces accountability and creates common standards across diverse teams.

Knowledge and experience

·    Practical knowledge of the three lines of defence model and the role of governance and reporting in supporting effective risk oversight.

·    Understanding of Indian regulatory expectations relevant to the RIS remit, including data privacy and CERT-In mandates.

·    Experience with reporting automation, data visualisation or Power BI enhancement initiatives is desirable.

·    Experience maintaining operating model, process, procedure, policy and accountability documentation is desirable.
