Health & Safety Officer

At The Guinness Partnership, we are committed to providing safe homes and workplaces for our residents and colleagues. We are seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join our high-performing team on a full-time, permanent basis, supporting the North East region.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will be an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Officer who is passionate about promoting a positive health and safety culture and driving high standards across the organisation. You will provide expert advice and support to managers and colleagues, undertake audits and inspections, investigate incidents, and help identify and manage risks to employees, residents, contractors and members of the public.

This role is aligned to our Oldham office and involves frequent travel across the North East region, primarily covering Sheffield and the surrounding areas. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. Business mileage is reimbursed at 55p per mile.

To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate:

- Sound knowledge of current health and safety legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
- Experience of developing and delivering health and safety training.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
- A customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Essential qualifications:

- NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma (or equivalent qualification).
- Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
