Position Summary
Farmington Country Club is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Overnight Floor Care Technician to perform specialized floor cleaning and maintenance throughout the Club.
This position will primarily work overnight when member and guest traffic is minimal, allowing floor-care projects to be completed safely and with minimal disruption to Club operations.
The Floor Care Technician will be responsible for maintaining a variety of surfaces, including finished wood floors, ballroom flooring, carpet, and bathroom tile.
Essential Duties
- Buff and maintain finished wood floors using appropriate floor machines and pads.
- Perform scheduled maintenance of the ballroom wood floor.
- Clean and maintain floors in the Grill/Pub and other high-traffic areas.
- Perform carpet extraction, deep cleaning, and spot treatment.
- Machine scrub and detail bathroom tile and grout.
- Complete scheduled floor-care projects and preventive maintenance.
- Operate commercial floor buffers, carpet extractors, vacuums, scrubbers, and other floor-care equipment.
- Properly clean and store equipment after use.
- Use cleaning chemicals and floor-care products according to manufacturer and departmental guidelines.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of wet-floor signs and personal protective equipment.
- Identify and report damaged flooring, equipment problems, leaks, stains, or other concerns.
- Complete assigned work orders and document completed work in MaintainX when required.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
- Perform other floor-care and housekeeping-related duties as assigned.
Training
The selected candidate will initially receive approximately one week of day-shift training covering floor-care procedures, equipment operation, chemical safety, Club expectations, and work-order documentation.
The employee will transition to the overnight schedule after demonstrating the ability to safely and independently perform the primary responsibilities of the position.
Schedule
Sunday: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
Thursday: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
Approximately 16 hours per week
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Previous floor-care, custodial, janitorial, or commercial housekeeping experience preferred.
- Experience operating commercial floor-care equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of wood-floor care and carpet extraction is a plus.
- Ability to learn proper floor-care techniques and equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be comfortable working overnight hours.
Physical Requirements
Position requires extended periods of standing and walking as well as frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and operating commercial floor-care equipment. Must be able to safely move equipment and supplies necessary to perform assigned duties.
