We are looking for:

- Global Electrical Engineer

- Syensqo is seeking an experienced Global Electrical Engineer to join our global engineering team within Composite Materials.

- Reporting to the Global Automation Lead - Controls , this role will provide technical leadership and engineering expertise for electrical power and distribution systems across our global manufacturing sites.

- The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the reliability, safety, modernisation, and long-term strategy of our electrical infrastructure, with a particular focus on industrial power distribution, electrical system upgrades, equipment obsolescence, and capital projects .

- This is a hands-on global engineering role that combines technical expertise with project execution and strategic planning.

- The Global Electrical Engineer will personally lead electrical projects while working closely with site engineering teams to identify risks, establish standards, develop investment plans, and improve the resilience and reliability of electrical systems across the organisation.

- The role will work closely with site engineering and operations teams, EHS, maintenance, automation and controls, senior stakeholders, utilities, and external engineering partners to develop and execute a global electrical roadmap aligned with manufacturing and business priorities.

- Provide global technical experience and engineering support for industrial electrical power and distribution systems across Syensqo Composite Materials manufacturing sites.

- Develop and maintain a global electrical strategy and technical roadmap , identifying priorities for infrastructure modernisation, reliability improvement, risk reduction, and future investment.

- Establish and drive global electrical engineering standards, specifications, and best practices across manufacturing locations.

- Assess existing electrical infrastructure and identify risks associated with ageing equipment, obsolescence, capacity, reliability, safety, and maintainability .

- Develop structured plans for the upgrade and replacement of critical electrical infrastructure, including switchgear, transformers, motor control centres (MCCs), protection systems, and associated equipment.

- Lead and deliver electrical capital projects from initial concept and scope development through detailed design, installation, commissioning, and handover.

- Develop technical scopes, specifications, cost estimates, and business cases for electrical infrastructure projects.

- Perform and/or oversee electrical engineering studies including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash, power quality, and system capacity assessments .

- Ensure appropriate electrical protection, selectivity, grounding/earthing, and system design principles are incorporated into new and existing installations.

- Work closely with the Global Automation Lead - Controls and Controls Engineers to ensure effective integration between electrical power systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and automation systems.

- Support manufacturing sites in troubleshooting complex electrical issues and identifying sustainable solutions to improve equipment and infrastructure reliability.

- Develop strategies to improve the resilience of critical electrical infrastructure and reduce the risk of manufacturing interruptions caused by electrical failures.

- Support sites in developing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for critical electrical assets.

- Provide technical governance and oversight for electrical work delivered by site teams, engineering contractors, OEMs, and external engineering partners.

- Support the development of multi-year capital investment plans for electrical infrastructure, prioritising investments based on safety, operational risk, obsolescence, reliability, capacity, and business value.

- Support capital budget development and ensure electrical projects are delivered safely, effectively, and within agreed cost and schedule requirements.

- Collaborate with EHS and site teams to ensure electrical installations and working practices comply with applicable regulatory, safety, and engineering requirements.

- Maintain awareness of emerging electrical technologies and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, power quality, reliability, monitoring, and electrical system performance .

- Share technical knowledge and best practices across the organisation, helping strengthen electrical engineering capability at our manufacturing sites.

You will bring:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

- 5 years experince required.

- Significant experience in electrical engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on electrical power and distribution systems .

- Strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical distribution, including medium- and low-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, protection systems, and associated infrastructure.

- Experience designing, specifying, upgrading, and commissioning industrial electrical systems.

- Experience with electrical system studies including load flow, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and arc-flash assessments.

- Strong understanding of electrical safety, grounding/earthing, protection, and applicable electrical engineering standards.

- Proven experience leading electrical engineering and capital projects from concept through implementation and commissioning.

- Experience assessing ageing electrical infrastructure and developing risk-based upgrade and replacement strategies.

- Ability to develop technical specifications, scopes of work, cost estimates, and capital project justifications.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to support complex electrical issues in an operating manufacturing environment.

- Strong project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively with site engineering teams, operations, maintenance, EHS, contractors, and senior stakeholders.

- Ability to work effectively across multiple sites, functions, cultures, and geographical regions.

- Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience supporting electrical systems across a multi-site or global manufacturing organisation .

- Experience with both medium-voltage and low-voltage industrial power distribution systems.

- Experience with electrical power system modelling and analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or equivalent.

- Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations, including NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, IEC, or equivalent international standards.

- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent professional engineering qualification.

- Experience with electrical asset management, condition monitoring, and reliability programmes.

- Experience with power quality monitoring, energy management, and electrical metering systems.

- Experience developing engineering standards and driving their adoption across multiple manufacturing sites.

- Experience managing electrical contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, OEMs, and equipment suppliers.

- Familiarity with industrial automation, PLC-controlled equipment, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and their interaction with electrical distribution systems.

- The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $112,000-$140,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
