Overview

The mandate of the Metallurgical Laboratory is to provide testing and analysis services with respect to materials both metallic and non metallic. The types of services offered include:
Hardness testing.
- Mechanical testing.
- Non destructive examination.
- Heat treatment.
- Cutting and grinding.
- Metallographic examination.
- Failure analysis.
- Corrosion studies in high temperature and pressure autoclaves.
- Miscellaneous bench top corrosion tests.
Your role
- Conduct all operations related to the services offered by the Metallurgical Laboratory.
- Document the testing results and services and present the findings to the customer.
- Ensure the activities performed in the Metallurgical Laboratory are conducted safely and in accordance with operational procedures/practices.
- Assist in the preparation of specifications and procedures used in the Met Lab.
About you
- A degree from a community college in Metallurgy or equivalent is preferred.
- LPI, UT, and/or MT certification(s) would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, welding inspections, and applicable industry standards, including ASTM testing requirements.
- Strong practical aptitude with inspection and testing equipment.
- Proficiency in computer and word-processing applications.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
