Moog’s Industrial Group specializes in developing custom hydraulic and electromechanical precision motion control solutions. Our current customer base includes mechanical feedback servo valves and electro-mechanical solutions,  flight simulation, oil and gas exploration.

Process Quality Technician — Technical Operations

Moog Industrial Group in East Aurora, New York is looking for a hands-on Process Quality Technician who drives day-to-day problem solving and process improvement across machining, assembly and test. You will influence cross-functional teams to identify and fix product and process issues, run experiments, and perform complex inspections. This role emphasizes independent initiative, leading by influence, and strong meeting facilitation to take problems from identification to robust corrective actions.

You’ll be a go-to person who turns recurring defects and process variation into permanent, verified solutions. If you enjoy hands-on technical work, running experiments, and bringing people together to solve tough problems, this role offers autonomy and real impact across the product line.

To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you….

- Associate degree in Mechanical Technology or equivalent; additional Electrical Technology training/experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the machining, assembly and test of electromechanical products arena.
- Proven experience with complex inspection, audits, and cross-functional problem solving.
- Formal Six Sigma training is a plus (Green Belt).
- AS9102 FAI experience is a plus.

As a Process Quality Technician, you will….

- Acting as the Facilitator of MFB’s CARB (Corrective Action Review Board), you will help resolve process and component problems using structured problem-solving activities.
- Facilitate and drive root-cause investigations using 8D methodology and Lean tools (Tiered Management, Andon response, MRB/CARB support).
- Design, execute and support experiments in machining, assembly and test to verify causes and solutions.
- Perform complex inspection and measurements to assess conformity, feature variation and the impact on performance.
- Audit processes and systems to determine process capability, operator variation, training effectiveness and compliance with procedures.
- Document, track and communicate investigation results, corrective actions and verification activities.
- Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving meetings, CAPA reviews and decision sessions—building alignment and action without direct authority.

- Structured problem solving: 8D, root-cause analysis, DOE basics to support experiments.
- Metrology & inspection expertise: detailed part inspection, GD&T interpretation, use of advanced measuring equipment.
- Process capability analysis and audit techniques (process capability indices, control charts, operator variation assessment).
- Lean Manufacturing practices: Tiered Management, Andon, MRB/CARB processes.
- Basic project management: planning experiments, tracking actions, reporting status.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $36.00–$45.00 Hourly
