Instrument Calibration Technician

Job Requirements

Position Summary

Alkegen is seeking a skilled Instrument Calibration Technician to support the reliable operation of production and process control systems. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and replacement of approximately 500 sensors across the rotoformer system and associated offline process control devices. The technician will play a critical role in ensuring measurement accuracy, process stability, and compliance with plant standards.

Key Responsibilities

·       Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on instrumentation and sensors to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

·       Calibrate, test, and verify accuracy of approximately 500 sensors including temperature, pressure, flow, and level instruments.

·       Conduct routine and emergency replacements of faulty instrumentation components.

·       Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation associated with the rotoformer system and offline process control equipment.

·       Diagnose and resolve instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.

·       Document calibration, maintenance, and repair activities in CMMS systems.

·       Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and calibration procedures.

·       Assist in developing calibration procedures and PM schedules.

·       Coordinate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.

·       Maintain calibration tools and spare parts inventory.

·       Support audits and provide calibration records.

Qualifications

Required

·       High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree preferred.

·       2+ years of industrial instrumentation or calibration experience.

·       Knowledge of process control instrumentation.

·       Ability to read P&IDs and technical schematics.

·       Strong troubleshooting skills.

·       Basic computer skills and CMMS experience.

·       Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.

Preferred

·       Experience with rotoformer systems or similar equipment.

·       Familiarity with PLCs or automation.

·       Knowledge of ISO or calibration standards.

·       Instrumentation certification (ISA, NCCER, etc.).
