Torch Technologies is seeking a Senior technology professional in support of our Integrated Flight Simulation engineering team at Eglin AFB, FL.   A successful candidate will collaborate with the Modeling & Simulation (M&S) team and the Mission Planning team.  The candidate will serve in a senior-level aerospace/systems engineering role specializing in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), 6-DoF flight simulations, and systems verification and validation.

As a Senior Integration Flight Simulation Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

- Design, test, verify and validate virtual physics-based flight models and simulation environments for aerospace and missile systems.
- Responsible for incorporating all updated technical requirements, flight data analysis (Time, Space, Positioning, Information (TSPI)), military/industry standards, mission planning, and prioritized qualifications and breaks out as follows:

Systems Engineering & Standards Compliance:

- Execute formal Requirements Verification & Validation (V&V) across the vehicle lifecycle.
- Apply relevant Military and Industry Standards (e.g., flying qualities, system safety, software standards) to engineering artifacts.

Modeling & Simulation:

- Develop, integrate, and execute high-fidelity Six Degrees of Freedom (6-DoF) integrated flight simulations and vehicle dynamic models.
- Implement aerodynamic, control, and propulsion models into unified simulation architectures.

GNC & Algorithm Analysis:

- Evaluate and refine aircraft navigation algorithms (GPS/INS, state estimation, Kalman filtering) and flight control systems across operational envelopes.
- Analyze vehicle trajectory generation, guidance laws, and flight performance.

Flight Test & TSPI Evaluation:

- Review and interpret ground and flight test reports, range telemetry, and Time-Space-Position Information (TSPI) data.
- Perform truth-data comparisons and model correlation to validate simulation fidelity against real-world test data.

Perform pre-flight predictions and post-flight analysis of flight test events.

- Collaborate closely across multi-disciplinary IPTs including Avionics, Flight Test, Mission Planning, Propulsion, and Software.

Required Qualifications:

- U.S. Citizenship.
- BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, (ABET)-accredited institution.
- Minimum 8–10 years of direct experience in flight dynamics, simulation modeling, or GNC development.
- Working knowledge of systems engineering V&V processes and standard Military/Industry specifications.
- Convey an understanding of aircraft navigation, coordinate frames, air vehicle dynamics, or 6-DoF kinematics.
- Working knowledge of integrated flight simulation environments and analyzing TSPI / range test data.
- Working knowledge of C++ or MATLAB/Simulink for simulation modeling and data analysis.
- Conceptual understanding of operational flight profiles and mission constraints.
- Must have an active TOP SECRET DoW security clearance. Clearance level must be maintained throughout employment.

Preferred Skills:

- MS or Ph.D. in Aerospace or Systems Engineering.
- Experience directly supporting DoW/Air Force flight test programs or major air vehicle acquisitions.
- Background in propulsion system deck integration and advanced guidance/trajectory optimization.
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), or pilot-vehicle interfaces.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems, shell scripting, and Python for automated analysis pipelines.
- Direct experience with MIL-STD-1797 (Flying Qualities), MIL-STD-882 (System Safety), or formal MBSE tools.
- Direct experience with military/commercial Mission Planning Systems (e.g., JMPS, JMPS-E, OMS/UCI).
- Experience in Mission Planning & IPT Integration• Incorporate Mission Planning operational constraints, routing, and profile requirements into GNC/M&S analyses.
- Collaborate closely across multi-disciplinary IPTs including Avionics, Flight Test, Propulsion, and Software.
