Position Summary
Thistle Farms is a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to helping women survivors recover and heal from prostitution, trafficking, and addiction. We do this by providing a safe place to live, meaningful jobs, and a lifelong sisterhood of support.
The Manager of Residential Care and Support provides day-to-day operational management of Thistle Farms' Residential Services Program, including the Safe House Crisis Stabilization Program and Long-Term Residential Program. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, survivor-centered services while overseeing residential operations, staff supervision, resident care coordination, program compliance, and community partnerships.
Working closely with the Clinical Director, the Manager of Residential Care and Support ensures residents receive coordinated, individualized services that promote safety, healing, recovery, and long-term independence. The Manager provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to residential staff while maintaining oversight of admissions, resident transitions, case coordination, transportation services, and residential operations.
Position Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversees daily operations of the Safe House and Long-Term Residential Program, ensuring services operate safely and efficiently.
Coordinates daily program operations including staffing, census management, admissions, discharges, and transitions.
- Ensures residential homes are safe, clean, organized and compliant with health and safety standards; coordinates maintenance and repairs, as needed.
- Monitors resident care plans, assessments and discharge plans to ensure residents receive timely, coordinated, person-centered services.
- Provides consultation regarding resident safety, behavioral concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Ensures program services and practices are trauma-informed, recovery informed and restorative.
- Reviews resident care plans, assessments and discharge plans for quality and compliance.
- Ensures residents receive timely access to medical care, behavioral healthcare services, government benefits, employment services, education, transportation and community resources.
- Oversees resident transportation coordination.
- Provides leadership and supervision to Residential Services team members.
Leads hiring, onboarding and training for Residential Services team members.
- Provides immediate supervision and coaching on trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, professional boundaries, and resident engagement.
- Collaborates with People & Culture to develop staff training plans and identify professional development opportunities.
- Promotes employee wellbeing through supportive supervision aimed at reducing compassion fatigue.
- Ensures team members consistently adhere to program processes and documentation standards.
- Conducts routine case consultations and resident reviews; addresses opportunities for improvement in a timely manner.
- Ensures adequate staffing coverage based on program schedules, census and caseload.
- Provides leadership support for crisis intervention and de-escalation.
- Provides administrative oversight and leadership for quality, compliance, and financial stewardship.
Monitors compliance with organizational policies, licensing standards, grant requirements and best practices in partnership with the Clinical Director.
- Conducts routine documentation audits and quality assurance reviews.
- Consistently tracks and monitors program outcomes, develops and implements corrective action plans to address program deficiencies.
- Assists the Clinical Director with ensuring grant, licensure and compliance requirements are consistently communicated and met.
- Monitors residential budget alignment to include staffing, time management and supplies.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assists team members with complex resident situations and crisis management.
- Collaborates with National Network team members for cross referrals.
- Prepares reports and program data, as needed.
- Assists with policy and procedure development, as needed.
- Completes all assigned training within a timely manner.
- Fosters collaborative community partnerships.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in residential services, behavioral health, human trafficking services, supportive housing or related human services and two (2) years of experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and navigate throughout residential facilities, including stairs.
- Position requires the ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Position requires the ability to travel locally between residential properties and community partner locations.
Other Requirements
- Holds a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Requires clearance of pre-hire background screening.
