- Monday – Friday 6:00am - 3:30pm

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly pay rate for this position is $29.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Welder!

The Welder is responsible for performing various welding tasks to assemble metal structures and parts. The role involves using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments. This position requires adherence to safety protocols, precision in execution, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to ensure the production of high-quality welded products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Execute moderately complex welding operations to join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material such as stainless steel.
- Set up and operate manual and semi-automatic (robotic) welding equipment including MIG and TIG welding, including turntable MIG.
- Read and interpret moderately complex blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and job orders to determine appropriate welding processes.
- Ensure welding is completed to the required standards and specifications.
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify defects and ensure conformity with specifications. Deburr and prepare materials as needed to ensure proper weld quality and fit-up.
- Move materials, parts, equipment and other items using material handling equipment (ie. Lifts, hoists, hand trucks. etc) ensuring safety practices are diligently followed.
- Maintain welding equipment in good working condition.
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve production goals.
- Record and report production data accurately and timely.
- Participate in and identify continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding processes.
- Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred:

- Experience operating, setting up, or troubleshooting robotic welding equipment.
- Familiarity with robotic welding systems and programming

What you’ll need to succeed:

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in a welding role in a manufacturing, automotive, or related environment.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, welding symbols, and the properties of metals used in fabrication and assembly.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to welding and metalworking.
- Ability to pass a welding skills test.
- Understanding of welding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform MIG, stick, and flux-cored arc welding techniques.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting moderately complex blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Good attention to detail to ensure precision in welding tasks.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools.
- Well-rounded problem-solving skills to identify and resolve welding-related issues.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Frequently required to lift, carry, push and pull items ranging in weight from 5 to 35 lbs.
