Restaurant Supervisor

Duties:

- Reports to work dressed in proper attire and on time following proper clock in/out procedure as outlined in the employee handbook.

- Always ensures guest satisfaction in a positive and efficient manner.

- Assist in all aspects of restaurant, lounge and room service operations

- Assist in the selection, training, supervision and development of staff to meet hotel performance standards. Provides adequate floor supervision, one-on-one training, and employee development utilizing policies and procedures.

- Maintains a working familiarity with policies and procedures as they relate to restaurants, lounges, and room service operations.

- Assist in scheduling, evaluation of procedure manuals, job descriptions and specifications and performance standards within the department.

- Assist in effective communication of guest response and aids in the maximization of sales opportunities through follow-up on programs, systems and techniques.

- Assist restaurant, Bull Durham Bar and Room Service staff in developing strong, quality guest service skills and knowledge.

- Promotes and supports hotel safety and recycling programs.

Qualifications

To do this kind of work, you must be able to:

Physical Demands: Lifting 30 pounds max. with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires walking/standing to a significant degree.

To do this job you must have the following licenses or certifications before being hired:

​​​​​​​ High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

To do this job you must have the following amount of total education and/or experience:

- You must have 1 year of restaurant experience in a fine dining restaurant.

- Working knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages preferred. Hotel experience preferred.

- Requires excellent communication skills, ability to motivate and train employees and excellent guest service skills and knowledge. High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Position requires a BA degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

NOTE: This hotel operates seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. I am aware that at times it will be necessary to move me from my accustomed shift if business demands. I also understand that business determines the number of hours I work. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
