Recovery Support Worker

Overview

We have several opportunities for Recovery Support Workers to join our two new community mental health rehabilitation services at Wentworth House, Eccles, Manchester, M30 9HF and Park House, Urmston, Manchester, M41 5TQ.

The service is due to open on 1st December 2026 with paid staff induction planned week before opening.

The team will deliver a new 24-hour community rehabilitation service in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and the Home Engagement and Rehabilitation Team and will support adults living in studio flats with complex or longer-term mental health needs who no longer require inpatient rehabilitation but would benefit from structured support before moving towards greater independence.

Salary: £13.12 per hourHours: Full time & part time contracts available working 39 or 24 hours per week. Days shifts 8am- 3pm, evening shifts 3pm - 10pm and will include some weekends. We are looking to provide flexible rota opportunities where possible designed around people and place that will fit in with people's lives.

Responsibilities

As a Recovery Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives.

You'll provide compassionate, person-centered, and recovery-focused care and support, helping people build confidence, develop everyday living skills, maintain wellbeing, strengthen community connections and prepare for more independent living.

You will work closely with colleagues, NHS partners, housing, community and voluntary sector organisations and contribute to support planning, risk management, safeguarding, accurate recording and effective handovers.

Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who understand (or are willing to learn about), mental health rehabilitation, trauma-informed practice and positive risk taking and can build trusting relationships with people who may experience distress, anxiety or fluctuating mental health.

Clear communication and keeping acurate professional records will be an essential part of th role as well as working well as part of a team and know when to seek advice or escalate concerns.
