Senior Recovery Worker

Overview

We have several opportunities for Senior Recovery Workers to join our two new community mental health rehabilitation services at Wentworth House, Eccles, Manchester, M30 9HF and Park House, Urmston, Manchester, M41 5TQ.

The service is due to open on 1st December 2026 with paid staff induction planned week before opening.

The team will deliver a new 24-hour community rehabilitation service in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and the Home Engagement and Rehabilitation Team and will support adults living in studio flats with complex or longer-term mental health needs who no longer require inpatient rehabilitation but would benefit from structured support before moving towards greater independence.

Salary: £13.90 per hourHours: Full time & part time contracts available working 39 or 24 hours per week. Days shifts 8am- 3pm, evening shifts 3pm - 10pm and will include some weekends. We are looking to provide flexible rota opportunities where possible designed around people and place that will fit in with people's lives.

Responsibilities

As Senior Recovery worker, you will help lead and coordinate practical, emotional and strengths-based support within a 24-hour community mental health rehabilitation service. You will work alongside colleagues to support people with complex mental health needs to build confidence, develop independent living skills, maintain wellbeing and take positive steps towards recovery.

Working as a senior member of the team, you will coordinate agreed shift routines, provide guidance to recovery support workers, respond to residents’ needs, contribute to risk management, complete accurate records, support effective handovers and escalate concerns to managers, on-call colleagues or partner agencies when required.

Qualifications

As Senior Recovery Worker you will supervise staff members and delegate responsibilities ensuring values based support is delivered to the highest standard, so significant mental health, complex care, rehabilitation needs or related support needs experience, including responding to risk or changes in presentation is essential and Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) would be beneficial.

On joining Making Space you will be supported step by step with on-the-job training as well as the opportunity to undertake further professional qualifications if desired and required for your role.
