The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting, developing, communicating, and managing EHS performance. This position focuses on enhancing EHS compliance and risk management processes, driving engagement to improve performance, influencing business unit leadership, and integrating EHS into daily operations. The Specialist is accountable for executing compliance programs and ensuring adherence to both regulatory and internal standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance EHS compliance and risk management processes.
- Support and execute EHS compliance programs.
- Train and communicate to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to achieve best-in-class compliance methods.
- Conduct investigations to prevent occupational disease and industrial health hazards.
- Promote EHS awareness through effective communication and participation.
- Serve as the key point of contact for safety and environmental issues.
- Support regulated waste management, including consolidation and inspections.
- Conduct compliance tasks such as storm water sampling, waste inspections, and life safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Conduct EHS audits, develop action plans, and implement countermeasures.
- Perform risk assessments related to job hazards for new processes and equipment.
- Maintain and report accurate metrics to management teams and corporate reporting systems.
- Support management efforts to meet corporate program expectations and legal requirements.
- Recommend risk mitigation measures, including ergonomics.
- Establish and manage the safety committee.
- Drive continual improvement to reduce site safety and environmental risk.
- Support site meetings, safety committees, and floor inspections.
Essential Skills
- Experience in EHS support, particularly in warehousing.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in security and personnel matters.
- 1+ years experience in a similar role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of air, water, and regulated waste compliance.
- Experience in manufacturing plant environments.
- Knowledge of wastewater and stormwater sampling.
Work Environment
The role supports the Redmond/Kirkland area and operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Candidates must be willing to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. The position requires physical activity, including the ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand or walk for up to 10 hours.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
