Pay Range
£34,000 to £38,000
Working Hours/Pattern:
Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part time basis. What is the role about?
WorkWell is an integrated work and health support service helping people with disabilities and health conditions to start, stay and succeed in work. The service provides early intervention support to individuals whose health is affecting their ability to work, helping them to overcome barriers, improve wellbeing and achieve sustainable employment outcomes.
The Senior Neighbourhood Work & Health Coach is a lead practitioner responsible for supporting the delivery of a high-quality, integrated work and health service. The role combines direct participant support with leadership, coaching and quality responsibilities, ensuring individuals receive effective, person-centred support to remain in work, return to work following absence, or move into sustainable employment.
Working closely with the WorkWell Manager, healthcare professionals, employers and community partners, the Senior Neighbourhood Work & Health Coach will act as a subject matter expert, supporting the development of Work & Health Coaches, contributing to multi-disciplinary case management, and driving service quality, performance and continuous improvement. The postholder will provide guidance and day-to-day operational support to colleagues while maintaining oversight of complex participant cases and promoting positive employment and wellbeing outcomes.
Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to Work & Health Coaches.
- Conduct observations and quality reviews of coaching practice.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and informal supervision sessions.
- Monitor team performance against service KPIs and outcomes.
- Conduct regular caseload reviews.
- Analyse management information to identify trends and risks.
- Ensure participants receive timely and effective support.
- Undertake holistic biopsychosocial assessments.
- Develop personalised Work and Health Action Plans.
- Support participants to remain in work, return to work or secure suitable employment.
- Provide specialist advice on complex barriers to employment.
- Work closely with clinicians, social prescribers and community partners.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:
- Experience providing advice, guidance, coaching or support to individuals facing health, wellbeing or employment-related barriers.
- Experience managing a caseload and supporting individuals to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Experience supporting, mentoring or coaching colleagues in a professional environment.
- Experience working within a performance and quality-driven service.
- Experience working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience supporting individuals with physical health conditions, mental health conditions, disabilities or complex barriers.
- A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
- GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage OR International Equivalents.
Essential Knowledge
- Understanding of the impact that physical health, mental health and disability can have on an individual's ability to obtain, remain in or return to work.
- Understanding of person-centred support and strengths-based coaching approaches.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and risk management.
- Awareness of local health, wellbeing and community support services.
- Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles in service delivery.
