Your role

As a Senior Staff Applications Engineer  in our Wired Connectivity Solutions group, you will partner with leading device makers to deliver complete USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery solutions. You will bridge customers and cross-functional teams to translate system needs into silicon, firmware, and reference designs that accelerate adoption

Key responsibilities in your new role

- Co-develop USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery
interfaces with strategic customers to design into their systems
- Partner with engineering, sales, and marketing to drive adoption and deliver system-level solutions
- Develop , customize and validate firmware to meet customer
requirements
- Create and review reference schematics and designs and select
components suitable for customer systems
- Integrate firmware on customer hardware and support hardware and firmware validation
- Produce application notes , reference designs and training for customers and field engineers
- Capture external product requirements to guide silicon , firmware and reference design roadmap
- Collaborate with other application engineers across
regions and lead the strategic customer designs and reference design

Your profile

- Mandatory: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical,
Electronics or Computer Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of relevant
experience
- Mandatory: Proficiency in C firmware development and debugging on
microcontrollers
- Mandatory: Experience with serial interfaces including USB, I2C, UART and SPI
and with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers
- Mandatory: Ability to interpret schematics and printed circuit board layouts
and to select components based on system requirements
- Mandatory: Written and spoken English at a fluent level
- Preferred: Knowledge of analog design and power management circuits such as
switching regulators, low dropout regulators, and DC-DC converters
- Nice-to-have: Understanding of USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery
specifications
- Preferred: Working experience with ModusToolBox IDE or PSOC creator, or working experience with any of our PSOC based controllers

Salary pay information:
Location Indicative salary range Austin, Texas, United States San Jose, CA, United States Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate: US$135,900 – US$186,900 US $155,000 - $213,200 In addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
