PRN-Respiratory Care Associate

Job Requirements

Position Summary

The PRN-Respiratory Care Associate under the guidance of the Supervisor, Department Director/Manager, and Medical Director performs the duties necessary to deliver inhaled medications and oxygen medical gases utilizing treatment and oxygen delivery devices.

Minimum Requirements

Education

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Must be currently enrolled in a full-time Respiratory Therapy program OR within 6 months post-graduation with a South Carolina temporary respiratory therapy license.

· Or recent Respiratory program graduate in process of obtaining SC RCP License and passing NBRC Respiratory boards.

Experience

· Has completed at minimum one semester of class through Respiratory Therapy program.

· Must complete an in-house department orientation and competency training.

License/Registration/Certifications

· BLS Certification

Preferred Requirements

Preferred Education

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Respiratory Student in an approved Respiratory Therapy program.
- Or recent Respiratory program graduate in process of obtaining SC RCP License and passing NBRC Respiratory boards.

Preferred Experience

· Has completed enough clinical rotations through Respiratory Therapy program, to qualify as a 2nd year student.

· Must complete an in-house department orientation and competency training.

Preferred License/Registration/Certifications

· BLS Certification

Core Job Responsibilities

· Delivery of oxygen to maintain oxygen saturations according to our Oxygen Protocol.

· Administer respiratory inhaled medications for patients in general care areas.

· Perform EKG tracings according to policy and procedures and upload to Epiphany Cardio Serve software.

· Assist with stocking Respiratory supply areas as requested.

· Other duties as assigned
