Quality Technician

Job Description – This is an hourly position. This role will primarily be responsible for performing a variety of chemical, electrical, and physical tests on raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished goods.

Job Function

Reporting into the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Technician position will be based out of our King of Prussia, PA  site and will be responsible for performing QC duties on raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished goods under supervised conditions. Also, the Quality Technicial will aid in testing of materials in support of technical services, process engineering, and R&D.

Responsibilities

- Follow safety procedures, PPE usage, and proper hazardous waste disposal protocols.
- Perform QC testing on raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished products.
- Accurately document and communicate test results, including non-conformances.
- Enter data into the QC database to support the generation of Certificates of Analysis (CoAs).
- Conduct preliminary tests (e.g., solids, viscosity, fineness of grind).
- Perform advanced or multi-step testing in the following areas: Rheological : viscosity, flow behavior
- Physical : adhesion, print quality, solderability
- Electrical : resistivity, conductance, voltage breakdown, TCR, dielectric properties
- Thermal : TGA, DSC, TMA

- Support incoming material inspections (e.g., particle size, moisture, surface area).
- Participate in 5S and lab housekeeping efforts; maintain and calibrate lab equipment.
- Assist with quality improvement projects and cross-functional technical initiatives.
- May assist in onboarding and training new lab personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

- High school education or GED with exposure to algebra and chemistry
- Experience in lab testing or coursework in physical sciences.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and testing protocols.
- Ability to calculate percentages and basic math functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Demonstrates a high level of ownership/commitment to achieve results.

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, wear PPE, and work in a laboratory setting for extended periods

Preferred Experience:

- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and testing procedures, especially those related to viscosity, solids, and fineness of grind.
- Experience with ovens, belt furnaces, and other process lab equipment
- Exposure to dimensional measurement equipment (CMM, Micro-Vu, etc)

Hours/Shift:

- First shift, Typically 7:00AM – 3:30PM
