Shipping Lead
Location: Temecula, CA
Shift: 1st
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (approximate schedule)
Overtime: Mandatory overtime as business needs requires.
Compensation: Starting at $28.50/hour, depending on experience.

Position Overview
The Lead person directs and assists in the work activities of department employees. The Lead person performs a variety of manufacturing assignments, the majority of which involves filling in where needed. The Lead person performs the job tasks, as needed and depending upon department, of all positions within his/her department. The Lead person position requires seasonal availability according to production needs (8-12 hours per day). The work is performed indoors in ambient weather conditions, which fluctuates in temperature extremes from + 32oF to + 110oF.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the shift supervisor, directs the activities of one or more areas in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work.
· Leads receiving team members, mentors and motivates team members ensuring productivity.
· Facilitates team operations through the sharing of information and knowledge, identification of teamwork issues, encouraging suggestions, development of problem‐solving recommendations, and recommendations of standardizing team.
· Monitors team members to identify and provide training as needed or required.
· Informs supervisor of operating and/or employee issues.
· Collects and submits reports specific to team data as requested.
· Keeps records of departmental activities.
· Ensures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
· Functions as a team member and carries out duties and responsibilities assigned to the team.
· Serves as a resource and content expert to team members; providing them with guidance and being available to answer questions to clarify the work activities.
· Relays or helps team members with new or revised policies, procedures and /or processes to team members to ensure they have the most up‐to‐date and current information.
· Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
· Ability to operate a forklift
· Enforce the organization and storage of the raw materials warehouse

· Oversees department employees depending upon department and shift
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Thorough working knowledge of all operating areas of his/her respective department
· Knowledge of delivery operations and employee management
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:
· High School diploma or equivalent preferred
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:
· Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies in accordance with Company guidelines
· Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
· Ability to effectively enforce applicable regulations and policies
· Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments and customers
· Proven leadership skills
· Able to train and motivate department personnel
· Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department
· Proficient with computers and software (ie--Excel, Word, SB Client)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Work performed in a warehouse type facility with temperatures subject to normal environmental conditions.
· Hearing protection and safety glasses required, additional safety equipment provided based on specific job.
· Work surfaces are primarily concrete with anti-fatigue mats provided where feasible. Personnel will stand while performing their respective job functions, for up to 12 hours a day.
