Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

We currently have an exciting direct-hire opportunity for a Buyer II – 3rd Party/Standards at our U.S. headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

The Buyer II – 3rd Party/Standards is responsible for managing the procurement of externally sourced parts, assemblies, and services based on ERP/MRP-generated demand. The role supports operational and production needs by ensuring timely and accurate order placement, vendor communication, and system maintenance. Additionally, manages a defined vendor portfolio and takes ownership of more complex procurement scenarios. Works more independently, negotiates basic terms, tracks supplier performance, and supports cost and lead time improvements.

Targeted Compensation: The targeted compensation range for this position is $77,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually, depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities

- Review and convert MRP-generated requisitions into Purchase Orders (POs) for third-party vendors.

- Ensure accuracy in pricing, part numbers, delivery dates, and supplier information.

- Follow up with suppliers to confirm receipt, shipment, and fulfillment status.

- Monitor open orders and expedite as necessary to support production schedules.

- Collaborate with internal teams (planning, receiving, quality, AP) to resolve PO/invoicing issues.

- Maintain ERP records, lead times, and pricing for assigned suppliers.

- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and approval workflows.

- Negotiate standard pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions within defined parameters.

- Conduct vendor performance reviews using KPIs (OTD, quality, responsiveness).

- Support cost reduction initiatives by sourcing alternative suppliers.

- Participate in supplier onboarding and data accuracy reviews.

Required Experience

- Associate’s required; Bachelor’s preferred (Supply Chain, Business) with four to six (4-6) years of purchasing, planning, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

- ERP system proficiency required (SAP preferred).

- Knowledge of purchasing analytics/reporting tools is a plus.

- APICS CPIM or CSCP preferred.

- Lean or Six Sigma credentials is a plus.

Personal Qualifications

- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.

- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, inventory management, and production planning activities.

- Effective negotiation skills to support supplier agreements, pricing, and delivery outcomes.

- Experience building and maintaining productive supplier relationships through regular interaction and collaboration.

- Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

- Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions.

Job Requirements

- Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check

Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis

- Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

- Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 10% as business needs require

- Valid Drivers’ License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards

- Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Physical Requirements

- Frequent sitting, walking, and speaking

- Occasional standing, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and lifting

- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally
