## Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. M&T is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets. ## Job Summary:

The Senior Architect will be responsible for the coordination of Architectural design activities, coordinating the scope and integration of work assigned to subcontracted design entities for various assets.

The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and the desire to innovate designs as well as architecture work processes and be fully engaged during the construction phase of the project to maintain the Architectural integrity and design intent of the iconic and signature assets.

Working location will be a single status camp assignment at a Bechtel project site office.

## Major Responsibilities:

- Conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of layout techniques, procedures, and criteria for Architectural designs of buildings, facilities and structures
- Prepare contractual documents such as Scope of Work and Request for Proposal
- Interface with clients and stakeholders to make presentations, define project layout requirements and obtain contractual and statutory approvals
- Interface with D-B and General Contractors, and the Bechtel Field Engineering team during the construction phase of the project.
- Coordinate the design development with other engineering disciplines, design entities, and functional departments which may include procurement, construction, estimating and contracts management groups.
- Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of cost estimates and quantity take-offs.
- Support the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and job satisfaction.

## Education and Experience Requirements:

- A recognized Bachelor of Architecture degree, from an accredited college or university with an overall experience of at least 15 years.

## Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of architectural design, production techniques, building materials, and construction methods
- Understand technical issues related to selection of design strategies, features and unique architectural design requirements.
- Knowledge of precedents, principles and practices of related engineering design methods
- Possess working knowledge of Autodesk design suite (Revit, AutoCAD) and proficiency in model viewing software (e.g. Autodesk Navisworks) to navigate the 3D model for review, coordination, and guidance of physical model development decisions. Leads formal and informal 3D model reviews.
- Familiar with discipline-specific design workflows and impacts to discipline productivity, schedule, budget, and staffing plans.
- Broad knowledge of the building industry, regulatory standards as well as International Design Codes and Standards.
- Highly skilled in oral and written communication and graphic presentation skills.
- Experienced with identifying sustainability requirements and managing their integration into the design and the construction of various buildings.
