The Opportunity

CACI is preparing for an exciting modernization effort with the Department of Veterans Affairs.  This new program will be a transformational initiative that will reshape how the VA manages acquisition, contracting, and enterprise-wide data. As the VA moves toward a modern, secure, and integrated CMS environment, our team will play a pivotal role in delivering the technology, expertise, and innovative problem‑solving required to support the nation’s veterans.

CACI is building a team of experts who thrive in challenging modernization environments as this program calls for high-impact technical leaders, forward-thinking engineers and mission-focused professionals.  We are currently hiring an Alteryx Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join this dynamic team.

The Alteryx SME will design, develop, and optimize data migration and conversion workflows supporting a Federal enterprise acquisition system modernization, leveraging the Alteryx platform to transform and cleanse data from 21 legacy applications transitioning to a unified Appian-based platform. This role requires deep Alteryx expertise, strong data analysis skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with data migration teams to ensure high-quality data transformation serving 26,000+ users.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop Alteryx workflows for data extraction, transformation, profiling, cleansing, and validation supporting migration from legacy acquisition systems
- Build reusable Alteryx conversion pipelines, data quality checks, and automated reconciliation routines to ensure data integrity throughout migration lifecycle
- Conduct data profiling and quality assessments, identifying anomalies, duplicates, missing values, and transformation issues requiring resolution
- Collaborate with data architects, conversion engineers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical Alteryx workflows
- Optimize Alteryx workflow performance for large-scale data processing, implementing best practices for memory management and processing efficiency
- Develop data quality dashboards, scorecards, and reconciliation reports to communicate migration status and data health to stakeholders
- Support mock conversion activities, validating transformation logic and coordinating data validation with testing teams
- Mentor junior data engineers on Alteryx best practices, reusable component development, and Federal acquisition data structures
- Maintain Alteryx workflow documentation and version control, ensuring maintainability and knowledge transfer

Qualifications:
Required:

- US Citizen with ability to pass Tier 2 backgroud investigation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field, or at least 3 additional years of relevant IT experience
- 3 years of experience in data engineering or ETL development, with at least 1 year as an Alteryx developer or data conversion specialist
- Expert-level Alteryx Designer proficiency with ability to build complex, scalable workflows
- Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar)
- Experience with data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and validation techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality and accuracy

Desired:

- Background in Federal acquisition, financial management, or ERP‑related data migration projects
- Alteryx Designer Core or Advanced certification
- Support for large‑scale data migrations involving 100,000+ records
- Knowledge of Federal acquisition data structures and the full contract lifecycle
- Familiarity with data migration methodologies, frameworks, and best practices
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other scripting languages used for data manipulation
- Capability working with Azure data services such as Azure SQL, Data Factory, and Synapses
- Familiarity with Appian or other low‑code automation platforms
- Understanding of data governance models and data quality management principles
- Ability to operate within Agile development environments and sprint‑based delivery cycles
- Background in reconciling and validating data across multi‑system source environments

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100-$172,400
