Job Summary:
The Freight Payables Clerk is responsible for performing the day to day financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner. These responsibilities include verifying, classifying, recording and processing all accounts payable data related to common carrier freight invoices in accordance with Company financial policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and productively with minimal supervision
- Responsible for paying freight invoices to over 80 carriers.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse audience to include carriers, supply and logistics dispatch and the corporate fuel accounting teams.
- Review BOL and carrier paperwork to ensure accuracy with the payment system.
- Review and note freight discrepancies and report to Operations for resolution.
- Perform calculations to verify invoices are within tolerance to pay.
- Review and resolve issues concerning past due statements from carriers.
- Review unpaid freight orders and communicate with carriers.
- Assist the manager with special projects and requests as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft platforms, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Capable of working independently to complete assignments
- Possess strong organizational and priority setting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience Required:
- 3-years’ experience in corresponding field preferred
- High School diploma required
